I have always wondered about this, i mean is it that hard to make a hologram?

Well, to me the ISI logo has always been a mystery. Do they have that logo there for the packaging or for the stuff inside :)

Holograms are a gimmick to make people feel that they are not getting screwed, & the first thing the pirate will do is copy the logo and hologram to make the product look genuine.

and people think looking at hologram helps to find it to be genuine?

It seems to be so on first thought but in practice a lot of counterfeit products can be found out that way. Probably because you have to outsource the hologram sticker and it compromises the secrecy of the operation which is key to running counterfeit products.
